The volunteer churches were excellent as well. They make sure you eat and just have all the necessities. The name family promise speaks volumes they promise to take care of families until they are able to get on their feet. It is a wonderful program to get into. And when you leave its not the end, they check up on you, make sure you have the things you need when you find a place of your own. They just love on you. “Before going into family promise I was so overwhelmed I didn’t know what my next chapter of my life would be being that I was a single mother with a 6 month old baby I was so scared sad angry depressed and felt helpless and didn’t know what to do at the time I swear I could loose it any minute...
OMG! When I got the call from family promise I knew my dreams have been answered they called me just in time when I entered family promise I had no worries at all I felt safe and happy I could cried They were so helpful with giving me advise and resources about jobs,helping with food and diapers and etc having to go to different churches every week was amazing to me I got to meet new people that was so sweet and treated us as family my daughter and I were so happy we finally had a welcoming place to stay as long as you helped yourself they were there to guide you through everything...
My favorite part about family promise is when I meet with my caseworker every week or so I was able to tell her everything I was trying to accomplish and the goals I was trying to achieve i could talk to her about any and everything and I felt I could be so honest with her if I didn’t have anyone to talk to about a problem I knew I could always talk to my case manager thank you so much. Family promise was so grateful to us from the beginning to the end.”
